Our Services
-
At Naturally Occupational Therapy, we believe that every child’s path is unique, which is why our services are never ‘one-size-fits-all.’
Whether you are a parent seeking clarity or a school looking to strengthen inclusive practice, I offer flexible, personalised support tailored to your specific goals.
This may include:
• Sensory Processing and Integration Assessment – to understand how a child’s sensory responsivity impacts their participation in everyday activities, such as attending school, or how their motor planning, control, and balance affect functional performance in physical tasks such as PE, getting dressed, or using both hands together to manage a knife and fork.
• Handwriting Assessment – to explore the underlying reasons why handwriting feels so difficult, including visual–motor integration, motor control, and visual perception and discrimination skills.
• Interoceptive Processing Assessment – to develop an in-depth understanding of a person’s unique interoceptive processing (the ability to recognise and interpret the body’s internal homeostatic and emotional signals).
• Direct 1:1 therapy – targeted support to develop skills, confidence, and participation in identified areas of difficulty.
Many of our assessments are play-based and enjoyable, keeping the work relational, child-led, and developmentally appropriate. Where appropriate, we also use standardised assessments, including:
• Bruininks–Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency | Third Edition (BOT-3)
• Detailed Assessment of the Speed of Handwriting | Second Edition (DASH-2)
• Test of Visual Perceptual Skills | Fourth Edition (TVPS-4)
Standardised assessments can be valuable in identifying and measuring strengths and needs by comparing performance to age-related norms, strengthening clinical reasoning, and informing high-quality, evidence-based decision-making. However, they are not appropriate for all children, particularly those who require a relational, low-demand, and emotionally safe assessment approach.
Please get in touch to discuss how we can support you and your child.

How I Could Support Your School
A neuro-inclusive partnership designed to fit school budgets:
SI Clinic Days: A flexible, cost-effective day comprising environmental audits, classroom observations, and staff ‘surgeries’ for specific student concerns.
Environmental Audits: Transforming classrooms into low-arousal, neuro-inclusive spaces that benefit all learners.
Staff Upskilling: Practical workshops that move beyond theory, giving TAs and teachers understanding of behaviour from a sensory lens and providing tools for sensory regulation.
Identifying Students for In-Depth Assessment
While universal classroom strategies support everyone, some students require a more granular clinical lens. I can provide comprehensive OT and Sensory Integration Assessments, alongside targeted, ongoing therapy for students who:
Have an EHCP (or are in the process) requiring specialist OT input.
Present with significant motor coordination difficulties that prevent them from participating in everyday age appropriate activities such as getting themselves dressed, handwriting and joining in with PE
Present with sensory-seeking/avoidant behaviors that prevent them from accessing the everyday tasks and activities, such as learning in school, washing, dressing, toileting, teeth cleaning, clothing refusal/avoidance.
Please get in touch to discuss how Naturally OT can support your school.

“We thought handwriting was the issue, but we underestimated just how many components are involved in what we thought was quite a simple task. Sam helped us break it down and to develop a real understanding of why our son was finding school difficult”
